Welcome to the pre-ASHA division newsletter! We have had an extremely busy summer and fall that I hope to share with you in person at the annual ASHA Convention in Atlanta, GA. I hope you will all plan to attend our affiliate meeting Saturday, November 23,12:30–1:30 p.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center, Room B403.
The meeting follows our seminar, “Perceptual Assessment of Voice Disorders: Results From SID-3 Consensus Conference,” session 846, Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the same location.
We also promise to have a heavily attended Short Course this year. In response to affiliate requests to offer more information on current voice therapy approaches, we developed a Short Course that addresses current methods across five different voice populations. The Division 3 Short Course, SC07, “Management of Voice Disorders Across the Continuum of Practice,” will be held Thursday, November 21, starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Georgia World Congress Center, Room A302. Be sure to sign up as soon as possible, because this Short Course may sell out quickly! Look for the Division 3-sponsored presentations as well as other recommended ASHA presentations and activities related to voice and voice disorders outlined later in this newsletter.
