Greetings, gentle colleagues. I hope this issue of Perspectives finds each of you well and looking forward to the 2014 ASHA Convention with breathless anticipation. The Special Interest Group (SIG) 3 Coordinating Committee, as usual, has been working diligently to ensure an exciting lineup of voice and upper airway presentations, all of which will be publicized on the VoiceServe and the ASHA Community. Instead of rehashing the list here, I thought I would use my last Coordinator's Column to expand a bit on the topic of mentorship, which I touched on last time. Today, I'd like to address mentorship from a broader perspective, highlighting those people who have influenced us from outside the communicative disorders professions.
