It always seems odd to start thinking about the November ASHA Convention so quickly after the previous year's event has ended. Only a couple short weeks after the holidays have ended, and the Special Interest Group (SIG) 3 Coordinating Committee and the National Office staff are instantly plunged into the melee of speaker invitations, topic area selections, scheduling, and 1,000 other projects in preparation for a meeting of approximately 12,000 professionals. I'm told that weddings are quite similar in terms of advance planning, that the majority of the big decision-making processes happen months before the event. The similarities end there, however, as wedding planning is not something that one does every year (unless you're a soap opera character or someone on reality television, in which case all bets are off).
