Wow, an entire issue of Perspectives devoted to reimbursement! As a member of ASHA's Health Care and Economics Committee (HCEC) and a liaison to and a member of the Division 3 Reimbursement Committee, it is exciting to have my column in good company with other articles written to help Division 3 affiliates navigate the billing, coding, and reimbursement maze. Dollars $$ Sense was created to assist members in finding answers to coding and reimbursement issues specific to evaluation and treatment of voice and upper airway disorders as they relate to Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes and the International Classification of Diseases, 9th Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD 9-CM) codes. In this issue, Dollars $$ Sense provides a quick reference guide for basic questions concerning CPT and ICD 9-CM codes. Please refer to the articles in this issue to provide in depth background and further explanations.
