World Voice Day is coming up! This year, the annual day to promote awareness, recognition, and celebration of the human voice falls on Wednesday, April 16, 2008! Start planning your World Voice Day activities now.
The goals for World Voice Day are broad. Despite our daily reliance on verbal communication in society, many do not recognize the value of voice until it is impaired. World Voice Day serves as an educational campaign to inform the public about the importance of the human voice and the need for preventative care. Raising general awareness about the importance of the voice has been a cross-cutting theme for World Voice Day. Prior year efforts have focused on early detection of voice disorders with “Listen to your voice, it may be telling you something” in 2005, taking action to improve your voice with “Put your best voice forward” in 2006, and avoiding vocal trauma with “Don’t tax your voice” in 2007.
