This issue of Perspectives in Voice and Voice Disorders is dedicated to new frontiers in the assessment and management of voice disorders, and it is the perfect opportunity to not only reflect on our past opportunities and to move forward and to concentrate on our future. And future beware as the SIG 3 moves through 2012 and into 2013 and beyond, as I stand witness to a subtle shift towards grass roots advocacy in our SIG, and it is a welcome shift.
