Welcome to our first Perspectives issue of 2009! If you are reading this, you have obviously been successful in accessing this issue through HighWire Press. I appreciate your patience with the process of moving Perspectives online—the move was an important one to save precious resources and make the high quality contributions by our esteemed authors visible to professionals inside and outside our area of expertise. In the interest of continuing our ASHA Convention 2008 theme of focusing on the voice care team model, all of our 2009 Perspectives issues will highlight contributions from recognized voice care teams. We have asked each team to focus on a specific laryngeal pathology or group of like pathologies in order to focus the discussion and offer the widest exposure to current practice patterns for both voice pathology and otolaryngology. We are excited to report that one of the articles in this issue, written by Dr. Claudio Milstein contains two video clips. Both evidence and clinical experience play a role in the established practice patterns described. Many thanks to the authors for taking the time to get us up to date on current practices!
