I was hoping to write a back-to-basics coding column to start off the year, but instead we have two important concerns that take the forefront. First, I’ll give you an update on the tracheo-esophageal prosthesis (TEP) issue and then the latest information as of this date (01/23/11) on what I call the videostroboscopy supervision fiasco. I hope that by the time you read this column, ASHA will have made progress with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on both topics of concern.
