An invitation to write a piece for a special interest publication under the title “From Where I Sit” turns on memories. I have had the good fortune of growing professionally in the interrelated areas of speech pathology and voice science for over 60 years. Those of us who have been in our field for a relatively long time have been able to observe our development and changes. I am pleased with what I have experienced and am proud to be a speech-language pathologist and voice scientist. Part of that pleasure has come from association with outstanding professors, colleagues and students; there have been some great ones.
